Convert A Wma File To Mp3
Is there a program that I can get that will convert Mp3 file into a WMA file?
One of my friends said that WMA files are typically smaller than mp3 files so I was wondering if there was a program that would convert a mp3 into a wma file and I don’t have money to spare so if it is a free one that would be perfect.
Often programs come pre-installed on systems when they are purchased through an OEM-Original Equipment Manufacturer. They do this to get individuals use to their programs and sometimes they come as “trials” or in versions with less features than the retail box version but enough to get people to using the product and then do to familiarity they will often buy the full version, or convert their “trial” into a full purchase after using it for the trial period. Microsoft does this with the Office programs, and Sonic and Roxio, who are really the same company, do this with programs dealing with music, photos, video, and other data files.
Look on your All Programs list for any tittle with Sonic or Roxio and you may find a program which is exactly what you are wishing for. Roxio is less likely to be installed as Sonic as Roxio is the mothership of the product line. Have you heard of the Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite? If so, then you are somewhat familiar with these products already.
Both Sonic and Roxio have music format conversion. Just open up the tab for Music related needs and then select the Help files for assistance in how to correctly use the program. It really is as Easy as the tittle suggests. I would be surprised if you did NOT have a trial or smaller version of these products installed on your system already.
If you wish you can go to the sonic or roxio website and take a look at the products. Plus you can go to the online Help files to assist in use of the products. I purchased my current Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite from Frys Electronics for a huge discount. So, look around the stores and you will probably find simular sales for this product.
You can also go to the CNET Downloads site and look for Audio file conversion utilities. Often you can find shareware or freeware which will do the job just as well as the ones which cost money. Try this site to get started:

In the upper right hand corner is a search box. Put in Audio tools or converters or whatever search language you wish to use and click Search or Go. This will load a page with several different programs. Click on the ones which catch your interest and a new page will appear in your browser with download instructions and reviews by users. Read the reviews of several different untilites and see which one will fit your needs best. You can then go to Wickepedia and do a search of the program and see what they have to say about it. I once did a search on comparing different Video and Audio software players which also outlined which had the ability to handle what format and which features each had. It was very informative.
When you rip music using Windows Media Player you are given the option of which format you would like the files to be. I have ripped to the MP3 format and the WMA formats.
